Our Aquaflex potable water hose is a general purpose all synthetic layflat delivery hose certified to BS 6920 WRAS Material Approval, and also approved for use in public water supplies as per the Secretary of State’s List of Approved products listing 56/4/1397, as published by the Drinking Water Inspectorate (DWI).

The hose is a two-component system consisting of a transparent polyurethane inner lining and a synthetic polyester outer jacket. An additional blue NBR synthetic rubber exterior coating with ribs is applied for ease of handling and further resistance to abrasion.

The Aquaflex UK Reg 31 and WRAS approved drinking water hose is primarily used by the Water Authorities and sub contractors involved in the water sector for the emergency bypass of mains water due to failed pipework. This heavy duty lay flat potable water hose provides a temporary supply of essential water to the public.

Aquaflex is the preferred choice of Regulation 31 approved hose by the Water Authorities due to its unique construction. Whilst it is a heavy duty hose, the difference between Aquaflex and the TPU hose is its extreme flexibility, which is crucial in the emergency deployment by the Network Response Teams.

Aquaflex is also a multi-purpose hose commonly used within the shipboard and marine industry, on refineries and construction sites for the transfer of potable water due to its WRAS approval.

Hose Jacket:
The hose jacket is a 100% polyester high tenacity yarn with circular woven, warp threads 2 ply twisted, plain weave.

Hose Lining:
The hose lining and cover is a two-component system consisting of a transparent polyurethane inner lining and a synthetic polyester outer jacket. The external coating is a high quality ribbed NBR synthetic rubber, resistant to ozone and to external contact with oil products. The lining guarantees a smooth surface and low friction loss.

Hose Lengths:
All standard lengths can be supplied from stock, however RHL specialise in the cutting and assembly of non-standard lengths up to 100 metres long to satisfy customers individual requirements.

What does potable water mean?

The term "potable water" refers to water that can be consumed and drunk by humans.

Can you use stainless steel pipe for potable water?

In drinking water applications, stainless steel is corrosion resistant, so they last long without replacement and require little maintenance, so operating costs are reduced. Brass, Gun Metal and Anodised Aluminium are also excellent materials for use on drinking water applications.

What is the difference between a drinking water hose and a garden hose?

It is known that garden hoses contain a large number of carcinogens, and the water they produce also smells and tastes plastic. Our drinking hose, is blue in colour and is intended for drinking.
